How To Take Mecobalamin (Nurokind 500 mcg)

Take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.

Try to take it at the same time each day.

Mecobalamin must be taken regularly for it to be effective. Continue taking this medicine even when you feel better/well. Do not stop taking it unless instructed by the doctor.

Dosage of Mecobalamin (Nurokind 500 mcg)

Peripheral neuropathies: 500 mcg 3 times weekly. 

Megaloblastic anemia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency: 500 mcg 3 times weekly for 2 months. Maintenance therapy: 500 mcg every 1-3 months.

Missed Dose of Mecobalamin (Nurokind 500 mcg)

If you often forget to take your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your usual dosing schedule.

Do not double a dose under any circumstances.

Overdose

If you think you may have used Mecobalamin more than the usual dose, please seek medical help immediately.

Contraindications of Mecobalamin (Nurokind 500 mcg)

There are no known contraindications for Mecobalamin.

Mecobalamin may have the following side effects:

How Does It Work?

Mecobalamin is a naturally occurring vitamin B12 in the body which acts as a coenzyme of methionine synthetase in the transmethylation of homocysteine to methionine for various metabolic functions that are essential in cell replication and hematopoiesis. It works in promoting protein and nucleic acid synthesis, production of all epithelial cells and maintenance of myelin throughout the nervous system.
