Description
Chorionic Gonadotropins (OVIDAC 2000) is a human placenta-produced polypeptide hormone that interacts with the ovary’s LHCG receptor and promotes the maintenance at the beginning of pregnancy of the corpus luteum.
It secretes the hormone progesterone during the first trimester, which is required for maintenance of the uterus and prevents menstruation. In males, it also stimulates the production of gonadal steroid hormones by stimulating the interstitial cells of the testes to produce androgens.
