Description

Adapalene is a topical retinoid used for the treatment and maintenance of mild to severe acne (acne vulgaris) or pimple breakouts. Each gel contains 0.1% w/v of Adapalene as its active ingredient.

How to use

Adapalene gel or cream is applied to the affected area once daily just before bedtime. Apply thinly onto clean skin. To ensure that the area of application is devoid of oil, one may use a mild cleansing agent.

Use adapalene as prescribed. Do not use more than the recommended dose. 

Dosage of Adapalene (ADAFERIN Gel) 0.1% 

Acne vulgaris:

Adult: 0.1% solution/cream or 0.3% gel: Apply thinly onto affected areas once daily at night after cleansing.

Missed Dose of Adapalene (ADAFERIN Gel) 0.1% 

Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember it and then adjust the timing

Overdose 

 In cases of overt application of Adapalene, please seek medical help.

Contraindications

Side Effects of Adapalene (ADAFERIN Gel) 0.1% 

Adapalene may have the following side effects:

  • Skin irritation on the area of application appears as redness, dry, flaky skin
  • Stinging and burning sensation
  • Itchiness
  • Pimple breakouts
  • Uneven skin discoloration

Warnings

Do not apply Adapalene with the following:

  • Peeling agents
  • Strong astringents
  • Abrasive cleaners
  • Strong drying agents
  • Irritant products

How Does It Work?

Adapalene binds to specific retinoic acid receptors that are capable of regulating the DNA transcription of activator protein 1 (AP1) that recognizes the bacterium Cutibacterium acnes, the bacteria responsible for acne vulgaris

Storage Conditions

  • Store between 20-25°C and protected from light.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
  • Do not use Adapalene after the date marked on the bottom of the box.
